The score of a generation, played live

After sold-out shows across Europe, Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning epic comes to Australia: the complete film on the big screen, with Hans Zimmer’s score performed live beneath it by 65 musicians.

With our time on Earth running out, a team of explorers sets out on the most important mission in human history: travelling beyond our galaxy to find humanity a future among the stars. Matthew McConaughey stars as ex-pilot-turned-farmer Cooper, alongside Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine and Jessica Chastain.

Among Interstellar’s five Academy Award nominations was Best Original Score, for what Hans Zimmer calls the favourite of his career. He built it around the pipe organ, and at the organ for every Australian performance is Roger Sayer, the organist Zimmer chose to record the original soundtrack. The voice in the film is his, and in Sydney he plays it live.
