Indigenous Literacy Day is proudly produced and presented by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. It’s an annual celebration of First Nations peoples’ stories, cultures and languages suitable for all ages and will celebrate this year’s theme, Country Is Our Teacher.

The film 

Come on an adventure into the Central Desert of Australia, where viewers will learn from Niningka and Chris – 2 children living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and Nyirripi, NT!

Viewers will learn about life on Warlpiri Country in Nyirripi and Mpartntwe (Alice Springs) and learn words in Warlpiri and Arrente language.

Livestream

Directly following the Film, join a live celebration of stories, cultures and languages live from Sydney Opera House involving song, storytelling, and further learning about Aboriginal cultures. 

This year we will celebrate remote Community authors from Warakurna, Western Australia on the launch of their book, My Walk Through the Seasons on Ngaanyatjarra Country
