The ‘podcast hug’ unfiltered

One of Ireland's most distinctive voices, Blindboy takes to the Concert Hall stage for a live experience of his award-winning, storytelling podcast.

An evening in two parts, Blindboy will read from one of his critically acclaimed works in a live performance that is equal parts witty, strange and profound. He is then joined by a surprise special guest, bringing the intimacy of private conversation into the most public of spaces.

Described as a "cultural phenomenon" by the New York Times, The Blindboy Podcast taps into the Irish tradition of the Seanchaí which seamlessly intertwines history, fiction, cultural critique and politics into a relaxing form the creator calls "The Podcast Hug". Drawing upon his knowledge and chronic curiosity to democratise topics such as art, psychology, politics, science and music, Blindboy offers the audience a unique and humorous insight into issues which are perceived to be too complex.

In equal parts spontaneously endearing and refreshingly engaging, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Notable past guests have included Costa Georgiadis, Trent Dalton, Spike Lee, Charlotte Church, actor Paddy Considine, Hozier and Graham Norton.

Presented by Sydney Opera House in association with AMA Agency
