London’s beguiling, genre-defying jazz and hip-hop star returns

London-based jazz hip-hop luminary Alfa Mist returns to Sydney Opera House off the back of his sold-out show two years ago, bringing his transcendent musical vision to the Joan Sutherland Theatre for Vivid LIVE.

Prioritising feeling over perfectionism, rapper, multi-instrumentalist and producer Alfa Mist is renowned for his restless creativity and singular, genre-defying musical vision. Inspired by the urban sounds of his East London childhood, he summoned a dazzling fusion of hip-hop, R&B and contemporary jazz on his breakout EP Nocturne (2015) and his funk-infused debut album Antiphon (2017), and followed up with the soulful, groove-based records Structuralism (2019) and Bring Backs (2021). Coinciding with a string of sold-out performances around the world, Alfa Mist’s fifth album Variables (2023) found him returning with a renewed sense of vigour and purpose, while his latest, 2025’s remarkable Roulette, is a sci-fi concept album set in a dystopian future.

An unparalleled live performer whose soulful improvisation has captivated audiences across the globe, Alfa Mist remains an innovator – and a true original – on the UK’s jazz and hip-hop landscape.
