Jazz with an unexpectedly Aussie-classical twist!

2025 Polish Music Eagles Winner, Best Foreign Album for “Her Journey”.

Experience sultry and swinging chamber music for strings, winds, and piano, featuring brightest locally-grown performers. Sydney’s own Hourglass Ensemble curates a program of stunning new works and unfamiliar gems from Australia and around the world. Suffused with jazzy intrigue and beguiling nocturnal musings, this concert make the head spin and the heart swoon, all while your soul dance and your toes tap.

From the intellectual power of Richard Grantham’s profound world premiere, to the chaotic scandalous cheekiness of Grainger, the intoxicating and rambling blues music of Kats-Chernin, and the rambunctious sweet delights of Kapustin, this show is the energising highlight of the spring!
