Soul-stirring music from the Renaissance to today

Award-winning British vocal ensemble, The Tallis Scholars return to the Sydney Opera House for the first time in over two decades with an unmissable program inspired by the timeless beauty of Gregorian chant.

Award-winning British vocal ensemble, The Tallis Scholars are renowned for their stunning cappella performances and exquisite recordings of sacred vocal music. The choir first sang at the Sydney Opera House in 1985, 40 years ago, and has returned five times since.

In their first performance in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall in 25 years, The Tallis Scholars present an unmissable program inspired by Gregorian chant, led by director Peter Phillips. Hear this exceptional ensemble sing music spanning the haunting chants of 12th-century abbess Hildegard von Bingen to Grigorio Allegri’s soul-stirring Miserere, Flemish composer Jacob Obrecht’s iconic Salve Regina, Josquin des Prez’s Renaissance masterpiece Praeter rerum seriem and the beautiful and hypnotic Da Pacem of contemporary Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.
