Smoother than smooth, cooler than cool

Gregory Porter, the internationally acclaimed jazz and soul singer, is returning to Australia in 2025. He captivates audiences around the globe with his soulful baritone and deeply emotional performances with a voice that has been described as “liquid gold”. His unique blend of jazz, soul, and gospel has earned him critical acclaim and huge international success.

Acclaimed two-time GRAMMY-winning jazz vocalist, composer, and bandleader, Gregory Porter, is widely regarded as one of the world’s great modern jazz voices. Renowned for his rich baritone voice and heartfelt delivery, Porter has made an indelible mark on contemporary jazz, blending classic and modern influences with unparalleled power and authenticity.

Influenced by Bakersfield Southern Gospel and jazz legend Nat King Cole in his formative years, Porter’s vocal prowess and songwriting taps into the spirit of his legendary predecessors, combining jazz, soul, and gospel elements to create a sound that is tender, uplifting, and timeless.

Since his breakout album Liquid Spirit on Blue Note Records—which sold over a million copies and earned him his first GRAMMY Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2014— Porter has solidified his position as one of the most celebrated voices and storytellers in contemporary jazz, with a presence that commands attention from the very first note.
