Outdoor Events
Set below the famous white sails the Forecourt to the south and the Northern Broadwalk both offer patrons stunning harbour and city views and the backdrop for a once in a lifetime event. The Forecourt offers the largest capacity of any Opera House venue and has hosted a number of large-scale concerts including Florence and the Machine and Crowded House as well as welcoming international icons such as Oprah.
The Forecourt has a standing capacity for up to 6000 general admission and the Northern Broadwalk has a standing capacity for up to 2400 general admission.
NSW Government planning legislation and World Heritage site guidelines limit the number of events that can take place outdoors at the Opera House. We accept expressions of interest and each proposal is considered on a case-by-case basis.
