Sunday Morning Free Creative Play

Ages 7 - 11 | Learn how to be an orchestra conductor for the morning. Make your very own bowtie, baton and coattails for the occasion!

Conducting in coattails

In this part art-making and part movement workshop, children will create and decorate their own wearable coattails and a baton to imagine what it would be like to conduct the orchestra. After watching some videos of internet famous children conductors, they will then practice being a conductor accompanied by music.

Sunday Morning Creative Play at the House

The Sydney Opera House’s Creative Play program cultivates children’s creative thinking skills through a series of artist-led making activities that inspire, nurture critical thinking skills, collaboration and making with others. Creative Play spans an eclectic mix of multidisciplinary alumni, all dedicated to exploring ideas driven by performance playfulness.
