A global dance pop icon returns to make it rain

A true global icon of 21st-century club pop, Korean-American artist, producer and DJ Yaeji has brought a generation of adoring fans together on the dancefloor with her bilingual blend of house, sophisticated grooves and left-field beats. After making her Australian debut with a euphoric, sold-out show in the Studio in 2018, Yaeji is back with her highly acclaimed debut album and a new immersive multimedia live show filled with choreographed moments. Get set for two thrilling exclusive Vivid LIVE performances only.

Born in New York and raised in Seoul, Kathy Yaeji Lee started out her career as a graphic designer, before her involvement as a DJ in New York City’s underground dance scene produced her first single “New York 93” (2017), and her self-titled debut EP. But it was her follow-up, EP2, and its breakout club smashes – the throbbing, irresistible “Raingurl” and “Drink I’m Sippin’ On” – that launched Yaeji into a realm all her own, delivering a singular, hybrid sound that fused techno, Korean indie pop, hip-hop and leftfield bass. Yaeji’s cover of Drake’s “Passionfruit” and her remix of Charli XCX’s “Focus” became fan favourites, while she went on to produce remixes for Robyn and Dua Lipa, collaborate with Seoul-based polymath OHHYUK, and release her acclaimed mixtape, WHAT WE DREW , in 2020. In 2022, Pitchfork named her one of the “25 Artists Shaping the Future of Music”.

Teased by the drum’n’bass bop “For Granted”, Yaeji’s long-awaited debut album, With A Hammer, arrives in April. It’s going to be a huge year – and you’re invited to the party.
