Meet the artists
Jelena Sinik
Jelena is an award-winning animator and filmmaker from Sydney's Eastern beaches. She graduated a Bachelor of Media (Screen and Sound) degree at the University of New South Wales in 2014 before completing a Master of Animation at the University of Technology Sydney. Most recently, Jelena worked as a 2D animator on the Sydney Opera House projection show for Vivid Sydney 2023, Life Enlivened, illuminating Australian artist John Olsen's paintings. Her animations have been festival-screened internationally numerous times and when she's not swimming, she's crafting delightful films that strive to illuminate the often overlooked surrealism of the everyday.
Nicolette Axiak

Around this time, she met Jelena where their friendship grew to become the foundation for an array of exciting collaborations including the 2023 Sydney Opera House Vivid projection as well as various award-winning short films. Nicolette has spent many years working in schools as an educator and is passionate about finding new ways to share stories and inspiring others to unlock their own creativity.
Simon von Wolkenstein
Simon has been teaching animation and design over the last decade at the University of Technology Sydney in the Bachelor and Masters degrees. He also runs animation and stop-motion animation workshops for Indigenous schoolchildren as part of the university’s outreach program.
