After graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre), Jason’s career set off in 2017 with Beautiful – The Carole King Musical (Ensemble/Barry Mann Cover/Drifter Cover) followed closely by Disney’s Aladdin – The HIT Broadway Musical (Ensemble/Aladdin Understudy/Kassim Understudy).
His most notable performance has been in his four years with the Original Australian Company of Hamilton as Alexander Hamilton and the Original International Company of Hamilton reprising the same role along with other notable performers Rachelle Ann Go (Eliza in Original West End Hamilton) and De’Andre Woods (MJ in MJ on Broadway).
Jason went on to appear as Nicely Nicely Johnson in Opera Australia’s Guys and Dolls on Sydney Harbour and as Demetrius in The Lovers for Shake & Stir. During his spare time Jason writes his own musicals, novels, orchestrates and arranges, most recently for the new Australian AFL musical One Day In September.
Australian recording artist and television presenter Luke Kennedy shot to international attention in 2013 as Ricky Martin’s grand finalist on season two of The Voice Australia. As series runner-up, Luke was the first artist to secure a #1 single on the iTunes charts for his stirring rendition of Time To Say Goodbye, and the first artist from season two to have a Top Ten hit in the ARIA charts. Luke appeared as a special guest on Ricky Martin’s 2013 Australian tour and completed a solo tour to promote his debut album A Time For Us, which debuted at #6 on the ARIA charts. Luke subsequently released an independent record Skin and Scars, collaborating with APRA award-winning songwriter and recording artist Mark Sholtez.
Prior to his star turn on The Voice Australia, Luke had extensive international touring experience with The TEN Tenors, performing in venues across Europe, South America, North America, Asia and Oceania and to millions of television viewers on broadcasts such as The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon in the United States and the opening of Warsaw 2012 UEFA Cup in Poland.
Luke is a founding member of Australia’s rat pack Swing On This and regularly features in The Little Red Company’s smash hit shows including Rumour Has It, Your Song, There’s Something About Music, From Johnny To Jack, The IsoLate Late Show and Golden. He is an accomplished music theatre performer, notably playing the title role in seven productions of Jesus Christ Superstar including seasons at Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Townsville Entertainment Centre and AIS Arena, Canberra.
Luke was a regular presenter for Channel Seven’s Weekender, Great South East, Great Day Out and the National Lotto Draw for ten years. He was the Music Supervisor on Channel Nine’s Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols from 2021 to 2024 and is in demand as an experienced vocal coach, having worked on The Voice Australia (Channel Nine), Creative Generation (Channel Ten) and for Queensland Theatre Company.
After rising to national attention in The IsoLate Late Show in 2020, Irena has appeared in five main-stage productions for The Little Red Company, with star turns in Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves, There’s Something About Music, Skyfall, Your Song and Christmas Actually, and the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols broadcast nationally Nine Network.
Queensland Conservatorium-trained, Irena continues to indulge her classical roots as a regular feature artist for Opera Queensland. Recent appearances for OQ include The Marriage of Figaro, Tosca, A Flowering Tree, Orpheus & Eurydice, and the 2021 tour of Are You Lonesome Tonight. Irena played leading lady Rose in Wesley Enoch’s The Sunshine Club for Queensland Theatre Company and returned to QTC as an ensemble member for Round The Twist.
Hailing from Perth and a graduate of WAAPA, John notably earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of Dr Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. He played Ned Schneebly in the original Australian production of School of Rock, Bernadette in Priscilla – Queen of the Desert, Rodney in Dusty, Rum Tum Tugger in Cats, Roscoe Dexter in Singin’ In The Rain, Peter in the South African production of Jesus Christ Superstar, The Father in Wicked and Henry Etches in Titanic. He played Phil Spector/Terry Britten in the original Australian production of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical and most recently Annas and King Herod alternate in 50th year anniversary Australian tour of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Further highlights include The Who’s Tommy for Victorian Opera, Songs For A New World, Company, Rock of Ages, The Boy From Oz, Hair, Shout!, Leader Of The Pack, High Society, Oklahoma!, Grease, Cinderella, and Peter Pan. John was a featured vocalist for internationally esteemed Queen tribute act Rock Rhapsody and is a current touring member and soloist for Fernando – The Music of Abba Orchestrated.
As a broadcaster, John is a regular, well known and respected presenter for ABC Radio Hobart and ABC Northern Tasmania. He also provides content at ABC Sydney for nationally broadcast program, Nightlife. John is an established and sought after cabaret artist. Alan Cumming selected John’s solo show #VAL – A Campfire Kiki With Mother for his 2021 Adelaide Cabaret Festival. An invitation subsequently followed to perform with Alan at Australia’s Club Cumming. #VAL has toured festivals extensively since 2019. Other solo works include Dedications, premiering at Adelaide Cabaret Festival and That’s Not Your Light, John! for the inaugural Perth International Cabaret Festival and Cabaret at the Italian Forum in Sydney.

All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.

The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see the Wilson Parking website for details.
Please check the Transport NSW website for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a 7-10 minute walk to the Opera House.
Frequently asked questions
Ticket purchases and collection at our Box Office is discouraged and eTicket or postal delivery methods should be used, wherever possible. However, if you are collecting your tickets from the Box Office, we recommend doing this at least 60 minutes before the event starts. If you have already received your tickets, the venue doors will be open 45 minutes pre-show for Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 30 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Please take your seats as soon as you arrive.
If you are late, we will seat you as soon as we can and, where possible, in your allocated seat. However, to reduce movement in the venue as well as minimise disruption to the performance and other patrons, ticketholders may be seated in an allocated latecomer’s seat. Please be aware that some events have lock-out periods. In these cases, latecomers will be admitted at a suitable break in the performance. On occasions, this may not be until the interval, or at all where there is no interval.

In accordance with our venue security procedures, Opera House security will be scanning and checking bags under the Monumental Stairs, prior to entering the building. Bags will be scanned by an x-ray machine, and staff will wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling your belongings, such as gloves. Cloaking facilities will be open 60 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 60 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. However it is strongly encouraged that you travel lightly to minimise contact and queuing. Any bags larger than an A4 piece of paper will need to be checked into the Cloak Room.
