Oleum reframes and reconstructs opera for the screen, moving beyond the walls of the Opera House, shooting in and around Sydney to spotlight the city and its creatives on a global stage.

Featuring alt-r&b star, Maina Doe and frontman of post-punk / hip hop project Shady Nasty, Kevin Stathis, with original composition by the internationally acclaimed Corin Ileto, Oleum serves as a collision point for a gamut of flourishing Sydney creatives.

Directed by VERSUS (Tanya Babić and Jason Sukadana), the Oleum creative team includes award-winning cinematographer, Tyson Perkins; renowned theatre and opera designers, Charles Davis and Emma White; and interdisciplinary fashion designers Injury (Dan Tse & Eugene Leung).

Enabled by Sydney Opera House donor Professor Ross Steele AM, The Skrzynski Foundation and New Work Now donors.
