A magnificent concert series featuring musically diverse performances by over 1000 outstanding student musicians and vocalists from NSW public schools and high schools.

The Mimosa Concert

The Festival of Instrumental Music features musically diverse performances from more than 1000 public school students in Combined Recorders and String Ensembles, supported by individual items from talented vocalists, instrumental soloists and ensembles. The Combined Recorder repertoire includes Psalm 100 by Johannes Sebastian Bach; In the Serpentine Mine by Australian composer Damien Lane; and Concertino Bianco by Georgs Pelecis, to be performed with the Combined Strings. The string repertoire also includes Dracula’s Day Off by Australian composer Adrian Mansukhani and Pieces of Eight by Richard Meyer. This Festival will also feature the NSW Public Schools State Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra.
