Cast and creatives
Neil Dorward is an internationally acclaimed director known for theatrical spectaculars including Circus 1903, The Illusionists, Cirque du Soleil’s Mad Apple in Las Vegas and ‘Auana, its resident production in Hawai‘i, helping shape both Cirque productions from initial concept through to the stage.
His work spans acclaimed productions across Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East and Australia. He directed The Illusionists franchise from its debut at the Sydney Opera House to celebrated seasons in London’s West End and on Broadway.
Craig Ilott is an award-winning Australian director and creator whose work spans theatre, circus, cabaret and large-scale live entertainment. His acclaimed productions include Smoke & Mirrors, which won three Helpmann Awards, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Amadeus starring Michael Sheen, Velvet, Velvet Rewired and La Clique.
Craig is the co-founder of Caper & Crow and co-created GATSBY at The Green Light and L’Hôtel. His recent Sydney Opera House credits also include directing Velvet Inferno. His work has been presented across Australia, the UK, Europe and the United States, including seasons at the Edinburgh Festival and in London’s West End.
Stuart has designed and produced experiences across the arts, entertainment and hospitality industries around the world since the mid-1990s. A consistent thread in his work is the desire to merge entertainment and hospitality, bringing world-class food and beverage experiences into his projects.
Stuart is the co-founder of Caper & Crow and founder of Sydney-based experiential design and production practice Alfred.
Steve Valentine is a two-time world champion magician and screen veteran with more than 250 hours of television and film to his name. His credits include The Illusionists, Wizards of Waverly Place, Crossing Jordan and Spider-Man 3, alongside extensive live performance around the world. His multi-award-winning magic combines British wit, audience participation and decades of theatrical experience.
Captain Frodo is an internationally acclaimed circus performer, contortionist, comedian and showman. Born into a family of magicians, he began performing as a child before developing his extraordinary flexibility into his celebrated alter ego, The Incredible Rubberman. His career has taken him around the world, including performances with Circus Oz, La Clique and La Soirée, and six seasons at the Sydney Opera House.
Tic Tac Trio is an internationally acclaimed acrobatic trio specialising in Korean teeterboard and trampoline. With strong backgrounds in gymnastics, trampoline and parkour, and more than a decade of professional experience, the trio combines explosive power, precision and exceptional timing to create a fast-paced, high-energy act. Their international credits include Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey – The Greatest Show On Earth, Flic Flac Circus, Teatro Circo Price and Circus 1903. In 2022, their teeterboard act was awarded the Silver Medal at the International Circus Festival of Italy.
The Gomonov Knife Show brings together circus artists Andrei Gomonov and Viktoryia Shalik. Andrei specialises in knife and axe throwing, whip cracking and dance, while Viktoryia is a professional dancer and circus artist specialising in knife throwing and illusion. Together, they have performed internationally as the Gomonov Knife Show, combining danger, precision and performance.
Jhoan Campa and Candela Sica are an international duo with many years of experience performing on stages around the world. Multidisciplinary artists specialising in roller skating, they also master ice skating, duo straps and aerial pole, blending strength, elegance and adrenaline into a high-impact act. Their careers span cruise ships, circuses and theatres worldwide.
Jhoan comes from a circus family and has worked for much of his life with the Fuentes Gasca family of Mexico and his family circus, Hollywood on Ice, touring Peru, Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador. Candela trained in rhythmic gymnastics and competitive skating from childhood, alongside training at circus schools in Rosario, Argentina, and became Pan American champion in pole sport in 2022.
The Catwall Acrobats were founded by multidisciplinary artist and acrobat Hugo Noel. Initially famous for their original Trampoline-Wall act, the group became known for their high-level acrobatics and has won dozens of awards around the world, including four prizes at the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival. Their repertoire spans disciplines including Trampoline-Wall, teeterboard and Russian Swing, which they perform in Hook’s Neverland.

The safety and security of patrons, visitors and staff is our highest priority. Entry to venues inside the Opera House including theatres, the Utzon Room, the Centre for Creativity and Bennelong Restaurant is via a single entry point located under the Monumental Steps.
In line with our venue security procedures, all ticketholders must present their bags and personal belongings for visual inspection or x-ray screening prior to entering the building. Our walk-through scanners are safe for patrons with pacemakers, cochlear implants or similar devices. Please let security know if you prefer alternative screening.
We hope all our audience members, including those children with us, have a wonderful time. Please keep disturbances to a minimum. Ticketholders who interfere unreasonably with another’s enjoyment may be asked to leave.
If your child becomes unsettled during the performance, we ask that you step outside with them until they settle. Note that you may not be readmitted until there is a suitable break in the performance.
Filming and photography is not permitted inside the venue, unless expressly authorised by us. You must switch your mobile phone off or to silent while in the venue.
Refreshments are available to purchase from our theatre bars, with foyers open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances.

Cloaking facilities will be open 60 minutes pre-show. It is strongly encouraged that you travel lightly. Larger items – including handbags bigger than A4-size, backpacks, umbrellas, suitcases and prams – are not permitted inside the venues and must be cloaked.
Yes, pram parking is available outside our theatres. All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers.
Foyer doors are usually open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 120 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances.
Theatre doors will open 30 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 15 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances.
If you’re collecting your tickets from the Box Office, we recommend doing this at least 60 minutes before the event starts.
We’ll aim to seat you as soon as we can and, where possible, in your allocated seat. However, to reduce movement in the venue as well as minimise disruption to the performance and other patrons, ticketholders may be seated in an allocated latecomer’s seat.
Where an event has a lock-out period, latecomers will be admitted at a suitable break in the performance. On occasions, this may not be until the interval, or at all where there is no interval.

Location and access
Concert Hall
The Concert Hall is located beneath the largest of Sydney Opera House’s roof sails, filling the upper levels of the west side of the building. Best accessed through the covered concourse.
All Sydney Opera House foyers are accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators).
