The country-pop superstar makes her Sydney Opera House debut

Eight-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves is one of the biggest names in American music, with a string of chart-topping, critically acclaimed albums and beloved, multi-million-streaming hits to her name. And now, at long last, the country-pop superstar returns to Australia, making her Sydney Opera House debut with two highly anticipated shows in the Concert Hall.

Born in Golden, Texas, Musgraves took to music at a young age, and after a stint on the Austin scene, she broke through in 2013 with her debut studio album Same Trailer Different Park, which won her the first of multiple Grammy Awards for Best Country Album. In the decade of success that followed, Musgraves released such best-selling albums as Pageant Material (2015), Grammy Album of the Year winner Golden Hour (2018), Star-Crossed (2021) and Deeper Well (2024), while earning her first Billboard number one with her billion-streaming Zach Bryan collaboration I Remember Everything.

Weaving together country, folk and shimmering pop with her crystalline vocals, Musgraves has built a reputation as one of live music’s most spellbinding acts. Don’t miss this chance to see her, in the splendour of the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.

She won’t give up her freedom, and Don José won’t give up his girl. Their smouldering passion sets the stage for tragedy. This visceral opera is thrilling from the moment the curtain rises and the orchestra races away with the overture. It features the famous Toreador song, the Habanera and moving Flower song.

Duck Pond

9 – 12 Jan 2026

When Swan Lake meets The Ugly Duckling, feathers will fly. Circa, Australia’s trailblazing contemporary circus company, takes ballet’s most beloved classic and flips it on its head. With soaring aerials, a sequinned duck army, burlesque black swans and a cheeky twist on the fairytale you thought you knew, Duck Pond is a high-octane fusion of beauty, comedy and jaw-dropping skill. Quirky, beautiful and delightfully irreverent. This is Swan Lake, but not as you know it.

Gershwin & Shostakovich

3 Aug 2025

Music is a powerful defence against darkness. Throughout history, composers have responded to adversity time and time again by creating music full of hope. Richard Tognetti directs this profound program that features Ukrainian-born, internationally renowned pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk making his ACO debut in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Shostakovich’s witty, irreverent Piano Concerto No.1 with David Elton on trumpet.
