A dance journey for children through Australia's First Nations culture
Inspired by the performance of Saltbush, join Gamilaroi and Mandandanji dancer Nathan Leslie for sixty minutes of dance and cultural knowledge, in a playful workshop for children and their carers.
In this workshop, children will learn traditional dance moves as Nathan responds and reflects on the internationally acclaimed performance Saltbush. This is a once-off opportunity to dance, play and learn alongside one of Australia’s most experienced First Nations dancers and develop a deeper connection with this enduring piece of dance.

Pair the workshop with the performance!
Saltbush centres on the journey of two friends and their spiritual guide on foot as they cross Australian landscapes – river country, an urban landscape, desert, and the sea.

The Dream Makers Kiosk | Free Creative Play
By Howard Matthew, students and parents of Lansvale Public School
12 - 22 Apr
These school holidays sees a very special event. It is a remount of one of our most successful Creative Play events; Dream Makers Kiosk.
The work involves a magnificent cart and an engrossing activity making small puppets made from a wooden clothes peg, wire for arms, a sticker made by the children of Lansvale Public school for the face and various other materials to dress their unique character. The puppet can then be photographed in a photo booth.
Located in the Western Foyers outside the Playhouse theatre.
Venue Information
Performances are being sold to 100% capacity in line with the NSW Public Health Order. This includes all shows in the Concert Hall, Joan Sutherland Theatre, Studio, Playhouse, Drama Theatre and Utzon Room. Please note that you will be seated directly alongside other ticketholders.
In order to manage venue capacities, all patrons in theatres must hold a valid ticket.
