Pre-show experience for select Opera Australia shows
We invite you to sit back and relax before the show at Overture Dining.
Enjoy a delectable three-course set menu paired with a glass of sparkling cuvée on arrival, before heading into the performance in the Joan Sutherland Theatre.
Combined with uninterrupted harbour views, this will be the perfect start to your Opera Australia experience at Sydney Opera House.
Available 90 minutes prior to performance start time
We recommend you arrive 1.5 hours prior to the show start time (and no later than 1 hour prior to the show) to ensure you receive the full experience. Please check your show schedule on the night. We are unable to service your table should you arrive less than 30 minutes prior to the show start.

Although every possible precaution has been taken to ensure the menu items are allergen free, certain items may still contain traces of allergic ingredients as they are prepared in facilities that also process milk, egg, gluten containing products, lupin, fish, crustacean, soybean, sesame seeds and nut products.

When booking your tickets, select 'Opera Australia Pre-Theatre Overture Dining Experience'. Choose your preferred date and time, select your seats and 'Add tickets to cart'. You will then be able to select the number of desired Overture Dining experiences.
Please note Overture Dining is not available before matinee performances.
If you already have performance tickets, please call 02 9250 7777 to add the pre-theatre dinner to your existing booking.
Wheelchair access is available however this must be pre-booked and availability is limited so booking early is recommended.

Venue information
Our foyers will be open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Refreshments will be available for purchase from our theatre bars.
All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.
Getting here
The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see the Wilson Parking website for details.
Please check the Transport NSW website for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a six minute walk to the Opera House.
Covid-safe information
The health and wellbeing of everyone attending the Opera House is our top priority. We’re committed to making your experience safe, comfortable and enjoyable, with a number of measures in place including regular cleaning of high-touch areas, air conditioning systems that maximise ventilation, and hand sanitiser stations positioned in all paths of travel. We remind our audiences and visitors to please stay home if you feel unwell. If you need to discuss your ticketing or booking options, contact our Box Office team on 02 9250 7777.

While face masks are no longer required, we ask all our patrons and visitors to practise good hygiene.
The Sydney Opera House no longer requires patrons to show that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The authorised agencies for this event are Sydney Opera House and Opera Australia.
Only tickets purchased by authorised agencies should be considered valid and reliable.
The Sydney Opera House is the only authorised ticket seller for Events at the Sydney Opera House, unless we specify on our website that there are other authorised ticket sellers for a specific event.
Tickets purchased from Ticketmaster Resale, Viagogo, Ticketbis, eBay, Gumtree, Tickets Australia or any other unauthorised re-seller may be cancelled without notice and/or the holder may be refused admission to the event.
Vouchers will not be sent via Print at Home, so may need to be collected in person even if your show tickets have been emailed. You will just need to check in at the Box Office to pick up the voucher you have purchased.
Overture Dining is only available at the Joan Sutherland Theatre Northern Foyer and is not available at any other venue at the Opera House. On arrival please surrender your voucher to Theatre Bars staff.
If they have also purchased a ticket then yes they are welcome to join you. This experience is for pre-bookings only. There will be no purchases on the night due to the limited capacity and personalised service.
Your Overture Dining experience is inclusive of the menu items provided.
Overture Dining is only available at the Joan Sutherland Theatre Northern Foyer pre-show and the voucher cannot be redeemed for other food and beverage options.
You’re welcome to bring your own water bottle but no other food and drinks are permitted inside our venues.
This experience is for selected Opera Australia performances. Please ensure you have a ticket to an Opera Australia performance when purchasing Overture Dining.
