Unlocking our archives
As a cultural time capsule, the archives allow us to immerse ourselves in the history and legacy of one of the world’s most admired buildings. This material is an important part of our collective heritage, designed to understand our past as well as to preserve these stories for future generations. Sydney Opera House staff are working to digitise items from the archives expanding access to individual items while ensuring their long-term preservation. This exhibition, featuring previously unseen images and video, contains a small sample of the material contained within this sprawling, richly rewarding archive.
