An early cult classic from the celebrated creative partnership of director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) and concept and art director Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy), Angel’s Egg is a hauntingly beautiful, enigmatic meditation on existence that has gained international recognition as a unique and iconic work.

Angel’s Egg tells the story of a young girl, living in a submerged city, who continues to care for a large egg that she believes is the egg of an angel. She meets a boy in search of the bird he saw in his dream, who believes his fate is entwined with the egg she holds so dearly.

A masterpiece of experimental anime, Angel’s Egg is a vital milestone in the evolution of Oshii as an auteur, and a must-see for fans of poetic storytelling and philosophical cinema.
