Join us for a Slam Poetry workshop, presented by Western Sydney’s Slam experts - Bankstown Poetry Slam in collaboration with the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Learn to share your stories and perspectives in a welcoming environment, leaning on experienced artists who will guide you to find your authentic voice through the power of slam poetry.
Participants will journey through a series of exercises to develop your unique inner creative voice, and confidence in sharing your stories in front of others.

Explore the art of spoken word, ignite your passion for self-expression, and embrace the thrill of live performance. Whether you're a seasoned poet or a beginner, the supportive atmosphere and meticulously curated program will inspire you to write and perform new work.

Bankstown Poetry Slam (BPS)

Bankstown Poetry Slam (BPS) is a not-for-profit charity that was co-founded by Sara Mansour in February 2013. BPS was the first regular poetry slam of Western Sydney, and has gained national recognition as the largest regular slam in the country. Heralding in thousands of people every year, BPS has featured renowned spoken word poets such as Rupi Kaur, Rudy Francisco, Safia El Hillo, Nate Marshall, Anthony Anaxagorou, Omar Musa and Luka Lesson.
