By-Law Sydney Opera House Trust By-law 2021 (2021 By-law)
The 2021 By-law is made under the Sydney Opera House Trust Act 1961. The By-law is a set of rules that supports the management of the Opera House in:
- Maintaining the health, safety and security of visitors and staff when on the precinct;
- Protecting the Opera House building and its contents;
- Ensuring visitors can enjoy their experience of the Opera House;Protecting the Opera House’s status as a national icon, tourist attraction and meeting place; and
- Ensuring the Opera House can achieve its objectives and functions as set out in the Sydney Opera House Trust Act 1961.
The By-law is automatically repealed every five years in accordance with the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989. At that time, the Opera House is entitled to remake its By-law with updates that align to its current operating environment. The By-law is due for automatic repeal on 1 September 2026.
