Meet the artists
Marcia Hines
Australia’s beloved musical treasure Marcia Hines, with a career spanning five decades, has released 22 albums, selling 2.6 million copies, and has garnered countless chart-topping singles and multi-platinum records globally.
Marcia is an inspiration to women and Australians everywhere, constantly reinventing herself and setting industry benchmarks; moving from Boston Massachusetts to Sydney at just 16 to star in the Australian production of Hair, being the first black woman to star in Jesus Christ Superstar and advocating ceaselessly for diabetes.
Marcia was Australian Idol’s favourite judge for the show’s seven consecutive years, and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007. She received the Order of Australia (AM) in 2009 for her services to the Australian Entertainment Industry as a performer, judge and mentor, and to the community through a range of charitable organisations.
Brendan Maclean
Brendan Maclean is an Australian singer-songwriter and performer celebrated for his powerhouse vocals, theatrical flair, and electrifying live shows. He returns this year to the disco spectacular Velvet, reprising the role that launched his career alongside Marcia Hines.
He made his film debut in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and released his first single Stupid, earning over eight million streams and a publishing deal with Universal. Maclean has released five EPs and two top-ten Australian albums, including funbang1 and And The Boyfriends.
In 2017, his music video House of Air won a Berlin Music Video Award and is celebrated as an Official Staff Selection on Vimeo. He earned an AACTA award for the song Fine from How to Make Gravy and has performed with Kylie Minogue, Alan Cumming, and Darren Hayes at venues including the Sydney Opera House and New York’s Joe’s Pub.
KYE
In the short time since emerging, KYE has won over audiences with her celebratory, sun-soaked blend of pop and R&B. Her debut EP Good Company earned nationwide acclaim and featured collaborations with Touch Sensitive, Sampa The Great and Jerome Farah. Tracks Bossin and Clique marked a bold new era, gaining support from triple j, CADA and international tastemakers.
Destined for the stage, KYE has headlined sold-out shows across Australia, supported TLC and Amy Shark, and toured with Genesis Owusu, Peking Duk and The Jungle Giants. She has appeared at Ability Fest, Beyond The City and NYE on The Hill, and was selected as a Spotify EQUAL Ambassador. In 2025, Kylie’s Rant marks a fearless new chapter, further cementing her place as one of Australia’s most compelling contemporary artists.
