Before you arrive

At least two adults responsible for the school group must provide the Opera House their contact details including the date and time of the school group arriving and leaving the Opera House and name of the production they are attending. These contacts must be readily available at any time for 28 days. If notified by the Opera House, the school is responsible for notifying students and parents that were in attendance of any interaction with a positive Covid-19 case on site.

Cancellation policy

In the instance that a school has a confirmed Covid-19 case in the days prior to a planned excursion to the Opera House and as a result cannot attend, the school is to contact our Creative Learning team at creativelearning@sydneyoperahouse.com as soon as possible.

The Opera House will issue an exchange, credit or refund for the value of booked tickets on the provision of the school sharing a Covid-19 notice from NSW Health or another governing body.

Any cancellations made less than 2 hours before a performance or workshop cannot be processed.

Arriving on site

Students, teachers and accompanying adults must not attend the Opera House if they are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms (even if mild) or are required to isolate as per NSW Health guidelines.

Face masks are strongly recommended for all patrons while inside our theatres and foyers, including during performances. Please bring your own mask.

Cohorting

Where possible, groups will be separated as follows:

In workshops: At this time, only one school can be booked into a workshop.

In performances: Different school groups will be distanced by one row where possible. Please request this at the time of booking, it will be coordinated subject to availability.

In addition:

Students, teachers and accompanying adults must adhere to Covid-19 site signage requirements which includes hand sanitising and physical distancing

Congestion of schools in specific areas should be avoided where possible, including foyers, toilets, theatre and workshop spaces, at points of mixing or queuing and between seated groups.

Cleaning and ventilation

Regular cleaning of high-traffic and high-touch areas with hospital-grade disinfectant is undertaken by the Opera House.

Indoor venues are well maintained with effective air conditioning systems that maximise ventilation with fresh air.

Hand sanitiser stations with Dettol Aloe Vera Gel are available in paths of travel, frequently accessed areas and near bathroom facilities.

Dettol is a Sydney Opera House Global Goals Partner.
