Getting here

We recommend using public transport wherever possible and to allow for extra travel time.

The best way to enter the site for non-ticket holders is on foot via the East Circular Quay security check point. For ticket holders the best access is on foot via the Macquarie Street and Albert Street ticket check point only. Access to Macquarie Street is via Phillip Street.

The site will be closed when it reaches capacity for non-ticket holders. There is no pass out system for re-entry once you leave the site.

Macquarie Street will be closed to traffic from 10am on Sunday 31 December, after which there will be no vehicle access to the Opera House or Wilson Car Park. Extensive city road closures will also be in place. Vehicles will not be able to leave the Sydney Opera House Wilson Car Park between 10am on New Year’s Eve and 4am on New Year’s Day.
