House Canteen

From 9 March 2026, House Canteen will undergo an exciting refresh and renovation. It will reopen in June 2026 with a new look and new offering.

While it is closed, our other on site restaurants and bars will be operating as normal, including Opera Bar located next door, offering its signature menus and spectacular harbour views.

House Canteen is located on the Lower Concourse level of the Sydney Opera House.

Getting to the venue

The Opera House is a 7-10 minute walk from Circular Quay, and is easily accessible by car, train, ferry, lightrail, bus, bike and on foot.
