Join international artists Paul Curley and John Currivan, creators of the magical children’s show Polar Bear and Penguin, for an illuminating workshop, exploring their creative process and artistic practice. Paul and John are experienced TYA practitioners and specialise in writing and devising new work for young audiences, aged 4+.

How to make a piece of theatre for young audiences

In this workshop, explore the guiding principles Paul and John apply when making a piece for young audiences, the pivotal role director Ian Cameron (White) plays in the process, the importance of collaborative practice and integration of design elements  and, most importantly, how children contribute to the story.

This workshop is suitable for emerging, mid and senior level artists interested in making performances for children and families.
