Sydney Opera House truly is an amazing place to work

Corridors are filled with music from performances in the Concert Hall, actors practice their lines in the Green Room and opera singers warm up their vocal chords for the evening performance.

But it takes many people to get the show on!

Sydney Opera House employs an array of staff across Marketing, Public Relations, Ticketing, Performing Arts, Production Services, Human Resources, Legal, Financial Services, Information Services, Customer Services, Fire & Safety, Emergency Operations, Building Development & Maintenance, Tourism, Executive and many other areas.

As a NSW Government agency, we conduct a recruitment process consistent with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013. This involves utilising various assessment methods to select a candidate on the basis of merit.

Work experience and work placements

Sydney Opera House provides a number of work experience, internship, volunteer and work placement programs across a range of departments.

We cater for all levels of experience by offering opportunities to secondary school students, vocational education students, local and international university students and working professionals.
