JAMIE OLIVER
Globally-loved chef and child health campaigner returns to the Opera House in an Australian exclusive event
Sydney —
Eight years since his sold-out Opera House appearance in 2015, chef, TV star, child health campaigner and author Jamie Oliver returns to the Concert Hall stage on Saturday 11 November 2023 for an entertaining and in depth conversation with Melissa Leong about his career, his inspiration and what keeps him motivated.
Returning to launch his campaign to create a happier, healthier world through the joy of food, Oliver will enthrall audiences with a hearty discussion of personal stories from his early years, his 24-year television career that first introduced him to viewers in The Naked Chef, and the highs and lows of his many roles – from restauranteur to food education campaigner.
Jamie Oliver, says: “Every time I visit Australia it feels like a big old hug – it’s a real home away from home for me and I’m so excited to be back this year for this event. I can’t wait to sit down with you all for good chats about good food and good times, have a laugh, and take some questions from the audience. And, it is such a privilege to be at the Sydney Opera House, what a setting. I hope to see you there.”
Oliver has been a beloved presence on our TV screens, in our kitchens and at the family dinner table for over two decades, with a 70+ restaurant portfolio spanning 22 countries. The constant reinvention of his recipes, a deep-seated joy for cooking, and a desire to make simple, seasonal and healthy food accessible to all, has ensured his enduring appeal and status as a global phenomenon in food.
Encouraging generations of families to embrace quick, fresh meals – sometimes in under 15 minutes or with only 5 ingredients – Oliver has demonstrated that the health of children is at the heart of everything he does. As a dad himself, Oliver understands the demands of family life, bringing a casual approach to food that saves time without compromising on delicious meals. Through his signature enthusiasm and passion for food education, Oliver continues to inspire the next generation to embrace nourishing, accessible cooking – one meal at a time.
