Talks and Ideas

We wish to advise that due to the tragic passing of one of our GO Alumni, we are postponing the GO Oration due to take place on Tuesday 9 April at the Sydney Opera House.

The GO Foundation staff, board and broader GO family are deeply saddened by this loss. We will set a new date following Sorry Business and thank you for your understanding and patience at this time.

As an Aboriginal led and governed organisation, GO believes that their program illustrates that with the right model and approach, greater education outcomes for young Indigenous people can be achieved.

Empowering through Indigenous Leadership, Ownership and Excellence

The Inaugural Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation Oration will be delivered by proud Andyamathanha and Narungga man, Adam Goodes. Adam had a decorated AFL career with the Sydney Swans, winning two flags, two Brownlow medals and the Rising Star award. Adam was named Australian of the Year in 2014 for his work with First Nations sport, community programs and founding of The Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation. As CEO and Co-Founder of the Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium, Adam is committed to helping increase the participation of Indigenous-owned businesses in long term nation building projects. Adam and Michael O’Loughlin co-founded The GO Foundation with a focus on empowering young Indigenous students through education and building pride and strength in their cultural identity. Together they have awarded more than 1600 scholarships.

Presented by The Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation
