Iconic Australian film with live orchestra
Following four sold out Melbourne performances The Man from Snowy River comes to the Sydney Opera House for a special screening with live orchestra.
Joining in the celebrations will be the original stars of the film Sigrid Thornton and Tom Burlinson, who at each performance will give audiences some insight into the making of the film and discuss why it remains so close to their hearts.
The Man From Snowy River in Concert is a celebration of the enduring legacy of Director George Miller’s iconic Australian film, whilst the live-to-screen performance will showcase the film's APRA and AFI award-winning score by legendary composer Bruce Rowland. Audiences will experience the beloved Australian classic on the big screen, accompanied by the powerful and emotive soundtrack played live by the Southern Cross Symphony.
Based on AB ‘Banjo’ Paterson’s bush poem of the same name, the story follows proud young Jim Craig (Tom Burlinson) who, after the death of his father, sets out to become his own man.
