From 9 March 2026, House Canteen will undergo an exciting refresh and renovation. It will reopen in June 2026 with a new look and new offering. While it is closed, you can dine at either Opera Bar or Midden by Mark Olive.

> Child 5 to 15 years of age. Children under 5 years are free of charge for the tour only, dining for children under 5 can be purchased at the venue. Children and minors aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult aged over 18 years at all times.

There is a maximum of 35 people per tour and a maximum of 11 people per booking. If you would like to make a group booking, book a tour in Mandarin or are unable to book online, please call 02 8188 3734 to place a reservation via our Reservations team.
You’ll be on your feet for a guided tour, there are over 300 stairs, so flat comfortable shoes are recommended. Your feet will thank you!

The Sydney Opera House Tour is offered in English. It is also available to book in French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin.
Tour duration is approximate from when one of our guides meets guests at the Welcome Centre through to the end of the tour. Present your ticket at your preferred dining venue to enjoy your meal either before or after your tour.
Please arrive at the Welcome Centre 15 minutes prior to your tour time to adhere to check in and cloaking procedures. If you are more than 5 minutes late from the start time of your tour, your tour will be forfeited and a refund will not be available. Please arrive on time for your tour so we can provide the best experience for you and other tour guests.
We stage lots of live performances, so venues are subject to availability at the time of your tour.
No reservations are needed to dine. You can enjoy your meal anytime between 11:30am and 6pm (subject to venue availability).
To redeem your meal at Opera Bar:
Available before or after your tour from 11:30am to 6pm. On arrival please find a table before making your way to the bar and presenting your Tour & Dine ticket to bar staff.
To redeem your meal at Midden by Mark Olive:
Available before or after your tour between 11:30am - 2:30pm for lunch and 5pm-6pm for dinner. On arrival to Midden, please present your Tour & Dine ticket to wait staff before being seated.
OPERA BAR TOUR AND DINE MENU
Choose one meal from the following:
- Fish n chips with rocket, lemon & chunky tartare sauce (DF)
- Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, Westmont dill pickles, burger sauce & fries
- Vegan burger with lettuce, tomato, onion & special sauce - served with crisps or fries (VN)
- BBQ lemongrass pork chop with rice, pickled carrot & daikon, herbs, fish sauce & fried egg (DF)
- Margherita pizza with tomato, fior di latte & basil (V)
- Pino’s mortadella pizza with fior di latte, stracchino, red onion & pistachio (N)
- Vermicelli noodle salad with pickles, herbs & fish sauce (GF/DF). Your choice of lemongrass pork skewers or fried tofu (GF/V).
- Caesar salad with A.P croutons, bacon, parmesan, lemon, jammy egg & anchovy
Each meal includes one drink of either house wine, house beer, soft drink or juice.
Opera Bar kids menu
Choose one meal from the following:
- Crumbed fish (DF)
- Cheeseburger with tomato sauce
- Crispy chicken strips with sweet n sour sauce
Each meal also includes chips, veggies with hummus, choc chip cookie and a drink.
MIDDEN BY MARK OLIVE TOUR AND DINE MENU
Choose one meal from the following:
- Free range chicken breast, sweet corn puree, Tanami fire spiced roasted corn salsa, charred leek, puffed black beans (GF)
- Blue gum smoked miso eggplant, mushrooms, edamame, Illawarra plum sauce, native furikake (SE, V, VN, DF, GF, SY)
- Crispy skin Humpty Doo barramundi, warm potato salad, bush tomato fondue, sea succulents (GF, DF)
Each meal also includes the choice of one house wine, lager, soft drink or juice.
Midden kids menu
Choose one meal from the following:
- Lemon myrtle chicken nuggets , chipped potatoes with mayo
- Beef bush bolognaise pasta (DF, GFO)

A reflection of Sydney in all its colour and vibrancy, Opera Bar is a space to showcase people, produce and artists. The menus celebrate the city's diverse food culture, offering an opportunity to taste the soul of Sydney. With live entertainment setting the stage daily, Opera Bar is where you mark life's moments and make every day epic.Open Sunday to Thursday 11am to late. Friday and Saturday 11am to 12am.
Midden by Mark Olive
Located on the Western Broadwalk of the Opera House, Midden creates an exciting new culinary experience that draws on Mark’s Indigenous Australian heritage and heroes a produce-focused menu of native Australian ingredients – from wattle seed and bush honey to saltbush and succulents. Open daily for lunch and dinner 11.30am - 2.30pm and 5pm - 8.30pm.

The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see the Wilson Parking website for details.
Please check the Transport NSW website for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a 7-10 minute walk to the Opera House.
Frequently asked questions
The tour meeting point is at the Welcome Centre located on the Lower Concourse of the Opera House.
It’s a great idea to arrive early, grab a drink and soak up the view. Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour to allow sufficient time to cloak any large bags.
This should allow enough time for the mandatory visual inspections and/or cloaking of bags and personal belongings by Opera House staff before starting your tour.
Where possible, please leave bags at home. If you bring a bag, those larger than A4 size will need to be cloaked before you can go on the tour. We're unable to store suitcases or large bags as we have limited cloaking facilities.

Where possible, please do not bring bags to the Sydney Opera House. Bags larger than A4 size will need to be cloaked before you can go on the tour. However we can’t store suitcases or large bags as our cloaking facilities are extremely limited.
Cameras are allowed on the tour and there are plenty of photo opportunities throughout the entire tour. Your tour guide will advise you whilst on tour if photographs are not to be taken inside any venues. Please note there is no video filming on the tour.
Mobile phones are permitted on the tour however please ensure they are switched off or on silent for the duration of the tour.
You will have the opportunity to visit some of the Opera House’s many venues and theatres on this tour.
Please note that as we are a busy performing arts centre, venues and theatres are subject to availability at the time of your tour.
You can make a booking for up to 11 people though our maximum capacity per tour is 35 people. For capacity reasons the booking must be made by calling 02 8188 3734. Our Reservations team will assist with your reservation.
We encourage you to purchase your tour in advance online or via the phone where you’ll receive an eTicket. Please bring this with you and present it upon check-in at the Welcome Centre located on the Lower Concourse of the Opera House.
