Companion Card
The Companion card program supports people with disability who require an attendant care companion. It enables eligible people to participate in events and activities at venues without incurring the cost of a second ticket for their companion. You can find out more about the card specific to your state/territory here. There are also similar programs internationally.
Important information for both Australian and International Cards – please read before use
The priority of the companion must be to provide required assistance for the patron on site, including physical assistance.
Unless otherwise informed, free of charge entry for companions refers to ticket only. This means extra aspects of an experience e.g. food and beverage or merchandise are not automatically included with the companion ticket.
How to use an Australian Companion Card
An Australian Companion Card is accepted for most performances and events at the Sydney Opera House. Patrons holding a Companion Card can call our priority line on +61 2 9250 7752 or email bookings@sydneyoperahouse.com to discuss/request a booking/s and accompanying requirements.
How to contact us about the use of an International Companion Card
Cards issued under similar overseas programs are considered case by case. To enquire about using an International Companion Card please email bookings@sydneyoperahouse.com. Please note: you must be able to demonstrate that the patron requires an essential support companion. For example, disability parking permits alone will not be accepted.
National Relay Service
Patrons who are d/Deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech/communication difficulty can use the National Relay Service (NRS) at no cost.
Step 1. Make contact through your preferred NRS call channel detailed on NRS call numbers and links
