A triumphant triple bill to ignite the senses

Sydney Dance Company’s Engine unites three extraordinary choreographers in an exhilarating performance that promises defiant, fearless dance. Unmissable choreography that sets us alight, searing well after the curtain drops.

A powerful triple bill, featuring works from Rafael Bonachela, Fran Diaz and Melanie Lane. Bonachela’s world premiere is set to the music of Grammy Award–winning composer Bryce Dessner, The Journey Itself is Home. A choreographic meditation on meaning found not in arrival, but in continual becoming. Rising European choreographer, Diaz presents for the first time in Australia, with The Mass Ornament. A hypnotic work set to music by Henryk Górecki, Diaz transforms the idea of mass movement, where individuality and collectively exist in constant dialogue. Lane’s sensation, Love Lock, returns; a futuristic folk dance that collides romance, ritual and imagination. With striking costumes by Akira Isogawa and a pulsating score by Clark, Love Lock summons a charged, otherworldly energy.
