These Terms of Use govern your use of the Sydney Opera House Website. Your use of this website means you accept these Terms of Use. “You” means the website user and “we” or “us” means the website owner, The Sydney Opera House Trust.

Attendance at an event or performance is subject to the General Terms and Conditions for Tickets and Events and any other terms and conditions notified at the time of ticket sale.

1. Intellectual Property Rights

The material on this website is protected by copyright. You may use it for your personal and non-commercial purposes only. You must not otherwise use, copy, modify, transmit, store, publish or distribute this material without written permission from us.

You must not use any logos or other trade marks displayed on this website, whether registered or not, or modify them in any way without written permission from us or the lawful owner.

2. Content & Service

While we aim to ensure all information on this website is up-to-date, details may change from time to time.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, fault-free or error-free service.

This website may contain links to other websites or content. We do not guarantee that the links, or the websites or any content to which they link, will be functional, accurate, secure or up-to-date. The links or other content should not be taken as our sponsorship or endorsement of goods or services provided by third parties.

3. Security & Privacy

In Australia, the Australian Consumer Law provides certain statutory guarantees for consumers which cannot be excluded, for example that services will be provided with due care and skill. Nothing in these Terms of Use modifies or excludes those guarantees.

Insider Terms and Conditions

•     Current membership benefits are as advised here and in email marketing and may be changed from time to time by SOHT in its absolute discretion. 
•    Gift memberships should be activated within 6 months from the date of purchase, which is the “expiry” date displayed on the gift membership voucher. 
•    Any unused balance will not be refunded or credited on expiry. 
•    Memberships and membership vouchers are not able to be returned/refunded or redeemed for cash. 
•    Additional values cannot be added to an existing membership voucher; however, additional vouchers may be purchased. 
•    If your order exceeds the amount of your gift membership voucher, you must pay for the balance with cash, cheque, debit or credit card. 
•    Sydney Opera House reserves the right to close customer accounts and request alternative forms of payment if a gift membership voucher is fraudulently obtained and is used to make purchases. 
•    Sydney Opera House may provide gift membership voucher purchasers with information about the redemption status of the gift membership. 
•    Advance or priority access is only available to select performances as advised in the weekly Insiders newsletter.  Membership does not guarantee that you will obtain tickets, whether through a member presale or a general public onsale. 
•    Sydney Opera House does not accept any liability for lost or stolen gift membership vouchers. 
•    The Insider membership program is not designed to be used by group bookers. For group bookings please contact our groups department here
•    Unless stated otherwise, a limit of 10 tickets per Insider per performance is in place. Tickets bought in excess of ticket limits may be cancelled without notice. 
•    Membership may be cancelled or suspended without notice in response to activity such as unauthorised resale or unauthorised credit card usage.

Competition Terms and Conditions

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE INSIDER COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Information on how to enter Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competitions and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in an Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. The Promoter is Sydney Opera House Trust, Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000. ABN 69 712 101 035.
  3.  Entry is open to current Sydney Opera House INSIDER Members at the date of the relevant INSIDER email setting out the competition details. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, associated agencies of this promotion and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter the promotions.
  4. Entry for Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member competitions requires entrants to be at least 18 years old. If you are under 18 years of age, you are not eligible to enter.
  5. Sydney Opera House INSIDER Members, who have previously won an INSIDER competition prize within the last 3 months, are not eligible to enter.
  6. The competition commences on the specified date and will close at Midnight on the end date specified within the Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member email.
  7. Each email entry must follow the format of the competition requirements detailed in the Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member email and must include Membership number and Name to prove validity of Member.
  8. Each Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member can have one entry into the competition, unless otherwise stipulated within the Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member email. However, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries. Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.
  9. The winning entry/entries will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries received by the closing date.
  10. The winning prize/s and their estimated value will be detailed within the relevant INSIDER email describing the competition.
  11. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competitions are final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.
  12. The winner/s will be notified by telephone, email or via standard post and their Membership name and suburb will be published in the next Sydney Opera House INSIDER Member email.
  13. The value of offered prizes stipulated in INSIDER competition; 
    a) 1 x Double Entry pass to [Movie] valued at $35

  14. Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
  15. The Promoter, and companies associated with this promotion, take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit. If for any reason this promotion is cancelled or is not capable of running as planned, due to an intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.
  16. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Prize.
  17. The personal information you provide in entering this competition will be used to conduct the competition. In case of an emergency Sydney Opera House will use the contact details supplied when entering this competition. CREATIVE LEARNING TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. All bookings are subject to the Sydney Opera House Ticket Terms and Conditions.
  2. If a booking is made on behalf of a school or organisation, then that entity and the person nominated as that entity’s responsible representative must ensure payments are delivered by due dates specified on invoices.
  3. Invoices for a non-refundable 25% deposit will be issued upon making a reservation. Payment of the 25% deposit is due within ten (10) business days from the date of issue. 
  4. Final ticket numbers must be confirmed to the Sydney Opera House Creative Learning department no later than nine (9) full School Weeks prior to the event. If there are alterations to the booking, a new invoice will be issued outlining the changes and may require adjustments to applicable deposits. 
  5. All bookings must be paid in full six (6) full School Weeks prior to the event.
  6. Any bookings made within six (6) full School Weeks to the event are considered final and full payment is required within ten (10) business days for events in less than two (2) full School Weeks, or as specified in the invoice having regard to the event schedule. 
  7. In the event that the school or organisation wishes to cancel a Creative Learning booking, written notification from the entity’s responsible representative is to be provided no later than seven (7) full School Weeks prior to the performance. Cancellation of a booking up to seven (7) full Schools Weeks prior to the performance will result in forfeiture of the 25% deposit. Bookings cancelled within six (6) School Weeks of the performance will result in forfeiture of full payable amount for the order. Bookings that have not yet been paid to Sydney Opera House will require payment in full if cancellation is within this period. 
  8. For Subsidised Digital Excursions only – these programs are free of charge. However, in view of investments in preparation and management of Subsidised Digital Excursions, failure to dial into the session, or cancellation within seven (7) days of the Subsidised Digital Excursion, may be subject to cancellation fees of up to $100. Invoices for cancellation fees are payable within seven (7) days of issue. 

Notes and definitions:

School Weeks are defined in accordance with NSW Public Schools standards. Subsidised Digital Excursions means Sydney Opera House’s program of interactive, curriculum driven lessons and tours delivered via video conferencing.

KIDS MULTIPACK - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The Kids Multipack discount applies to all Sydney Opera House Presents Kids & Families performances (excluding Circus 1903, Kids Music Cafe, The Children's Republic of Sydney and Backstage in Biscuit Land). The Kids Multipack discount does not apply to the following seasons: Storytime Ballet: The Nutcracker, Olympic Orchestra - Music for Sport, Carnival of the {Australian} Animals and The Bush Concert.
  2. To be eligible for the Kids Multipack discount: 
    a). purchaser must buy tickets to a minimum of 3 separate productions within Sydney Opera House Presents Kids & Families program (excluding Circus 1903, Kids Music Cafe, The Children's Republic of Sydney and Backstage in Biscuit Land). Does not apply to multiple tickets for the one show/production, or multiple dates of the same production. 
    b). purchaser must buy the same number of tickets for each production within the Multipack. 
    c). Tickets must be purchased by the same customer, in the one transaction.
  3. Purchaser of a Kids Multipack is entitled to one free exchange of tickets between performance dates within the season for the same production (subject to availability).
  4. The holder of a Kids Multipack may add Sydney Opera House Presents Kids & Families productions to an existing multipack at the appropriate discount. Purchaser must notify the Box Office when making this additional transaction. Additional discounts will NOT be applied retrospectively to tickets previously purchased.
  5. The Kids Multipack discount applies to the ticket price only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount, other than the 10% discount on Junior Adventures booked online through sydneyoperahouse.com.
  6. If a purchaser buys additional tickets to a production within a Multipack, tickets are charged at full price. 
  7. All discount and package offers are limited and the offer may be withdrawn without notice. Buy early to avoid disappointment.
  8. No refunds except where mandatory under the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice.
  9. Venues and performance times are subject to change. Please ensure all your contact details are listed in your account when you book.
  10. A transaction fee of $5-$8.50 applies to all bookings.
  11. Prices subject to change without notice.

 WIN TWO TICKETS TO BENNELONG ENSEMBLES

3. Entry is open to residents of New South Wales, Australia over the age of 18. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and agencies and companies associated with this competition are not eligible to enter. 

4. The competition commences on 7am Tuesday 3 November, 2020 Australian Eastern Daylight time (AEDT) and will close at 11.59pm Wednesday 11 November, 2020.

5. You may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.  

6. To enter the competition, you must complete the online sign-up form on the competition page on the Sydney Opera House website https://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/events/whats-on/classical-music/2020/bennelong-ensembles/bennelong-competition-signup.html?eventId=200187, by entering your email address and name as shown on your current photo identification, and clicking ‘submit’ between 3 November – 11 November (inclusive).

7.  This is a game of chance. There will be 1 winner who will receive two House Seats tickets to the Bennelong Ensembles event (which includes a fine dining and classical music experience at Bennelong at Sydney Opera House).. The winners will be chosen at random by a Random Number Generator at 14:00pm on Thursday 12 November 2020. The total prize value is $590.

8. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

9. The winner will be notified by the Promoter by email. The prize must be redeemed by the winner by responding to that email by Tuesday 17 November 2020 and electing the date and time for which they choose to redeem the two tickets (subject to availability). If the chosen date or time is not available, the Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to arrange for another date chosen by the winner (noting that the final event performance is on Sunday 20 December 2020).  The two tickets must be booked together for seating at a table for 2. Winners will also be published on the Sydney Opera House website (www.sydneyoperahouse.com) by Friday 13 November 2020. 

10. If, for any reason, the winner does not redeem the prize by 17 November 2020 in the manner referred to in section 9 above (including if the winner is unable to find a date or time that is suitable by that date), or if the contact details supplied by the winner were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a second chance prize winner on Thursday 19  November 2020 and that person will be the prize winner (and the same terms and conditions will apply except that the date in section 9 will be 24 November 2020 and (subject to availability of tickets at that time) the date for an additional draw will be 1 December 2020).

11. If the competition prize includes performance tickets, they must be used on the date for which they are booked and are not redeemable for cash or transferable between dates or times.  If the prize is goods, the Promoter is not responsible for providing warranty as to performance of the prize or ongoing support for the prize.

8. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

4.                The competition commences on 9am Wednesday 12 February, 2020 Australian Eastern Daylight  time (AEDT) and will close at 9am Monday 17 February 2020 AEDT.

5.                You may only enter the competition once. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete or automated entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid. 

6.                To enter the competition, you must purchase one or more tickets to Sydney Theatre Company’s No Pay? No Way! show online through the Sydney Opera House website during the pre-sale period, for performance dates 21 – 28 March only.

 

7.                This is a game of chance. The winner will be selected in a random draw. The prize is SOH will refund a total of 1 in 5 transactions, valued at a maximum prize pool of $10,000.  4 tickets maximum per transaction.

8.                The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

9.                The winners will have the value of the ticket refunded to their credit and card and will be notified by email. Winners will also  be published on the Sydney Opera House website (www.sydneyoperahouse.com) by Friday 21 February 2020.  If, for any reason, the refund is unable to be executed and the winner does not claim the prize or the contact details supplied by them were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a second chance prize winner on Monday 24 February 2020 and that person will be the prize winner.

10.             If the competition prize is performance tickets, they must be used on the date stipulated and are not redeemable for cash or transferable between dates or times.  If the prize is goods, the Promoter is not responsible for providing warranty as to performance of the prize or ongoing support for the prize.

11.             Prizes will be sent via standard post or courier to the address provided by the winner or if the prize is performance tickets and the performance is within 10 days from the close of the competition, tickets will be held for collection at the Sydney Opera House Box Office under the winner’s name. 7.   Winner/s will be drawn by  by Sina Weibo with their electronic, random Lucky Draw mechanism at 12pm AEST on March 12, 2020. The Promoter does not control the draw. There will be two prizes. 7. Winners will be drawn twice during the competition period at the Sydney Opera House (Bennelong Point, Sydney, 2000). The first winner will be drawn at 12pm AEST on 13 August 2020. The second winner will be drawn at 12pm AEST on 16 November 2020. The first valid entry drawn by the judges will win a prize. The prize is two Sydney Opera House Shop Gift Vouchers, valued at $200 each. The total prize pool for the competition is $400.

To celebrate The Wiggles performance, we'll be selecting our favourite clips to create a Wiggly video montage. If you upload by next Sunday (21 June 2020) we may contact you to ask to use a clip from your video showing some of your Wiggly moves! You can then let us know if you agree.

Please note:

  1. By uploading your video you acknowledge that we may contact you to ask to use a clip from your video in a video montage – that montage may be displayed on Sydney Opera House and The Wiggles social media and YouTube channels to promote The Wiggles digital stage performance at Sydney Opera House, and may be used for any other purpose in perpetuity.
  2. If you agree to our use of your clip in the montage, you warrant that you are 18 years or older and have all relevant permissions from the participants in the video for its upload and use.

CREATIVE LEARNING 2020 TEACHER SURVEY COMPETITION

5. You may only enter the competition once by completing the Creative Learning 2020 Teacher survey and entering your full name and email address. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any uncompleted entries.  Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address or from automated competition entry services are invalid.  

6. To enter the competition, you must complete the Creative Learning 2020 Teacher survey and enter your full name and email address. 

7. This is a Game of Chance. The winner will be selected by a randomiser on Wednesday 26 August 2020 at the Sydney Opera House. The randomiser’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The prize is 1x Sydney Opera House voucher, valued at $100. 

8. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. You may only enter the competition once. Multiple entries from the same IP address, same email address, same social media account holder, or from automated competition entry services are invalid.  

6. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify, refuse to accept, or where possible remove any entries that are automated, incomplete, indecipherable, offensive, do not comply with these terms and conditions or contravene any applicable laws or regulations.

a. 1 winner will be chosen at random following the closing of the Competition (as outlined in Section 8 – ‘Timing’) and the Prize Winner(s) will be notified by email and/or phone.

b. If the Prize Winner(s) cannot be contacted within 90 days of the listed date in clause 9(a) above, the Prize will be redrawn. The redraw will take place on 12/07/2021.

10. Prizes

a. The prize winner(s) will win a $AU 200 Visa gift card. The total prize pool value is $AU 200.

b. All Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-replaceable and non-redeemable for cash. Prizes cannot be used to purchase gift certificates or lay-buys nor can they be re-sold. Prizes must be taken as offered. No modifications or exchanges will be possible. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value, any additional taxes, performance or availability of any Prize.

c. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a Prize Winner does not take an element of the Prize at the time agreed by the Promoter then that element of the Prize will be forfeited by that Prize Winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Prize.

d. Once the Prizes have been arranged by the Promoter, changes to any offered travel, accommodation and other Prize arrangements must be made by and are at the expense of the Prize Winner.

e. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a Prize is unable to be provided by the Promoter, the winner(s) will be notified and the Promoter, in accordance with Liquor and Gaming NSW be allowed

to substitute the Prize with another Prize of equal value.

f. The Prize cannot be on-sold on auction websites, classifieds or by other method of re-sale.

g. The Prize cannot be used for any other promotions/competitions.

h. The Promoter reserves the right to vary the prize and/or these Terms and Conditions from time to time, in accordance with Liquor and Gaming NSW.

11. Publicity Release, Use of Personal Information

a. The Promoter will collect information (including personal information) from all entries and use it for the purposes of the Competition and for its purposes. Entrants consent to the Promoter disclosing information, including personal information, to third parties for the purposes of the Competition. All personal information provided by Entrants will be held by the Promoter in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy.

b. By submitting an entry, Entrants agree to their entry being made available for public viewing. Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Promoters may at any time in its absolute discretion remove, modify or not display entries submitted for this Competition. This includes (without limitation) any entry which (in the sole opinion of the Promoter) is defamatory, contrary to public standards of decency or otherwise judged inappropriate or offensive.

c. The Promoter is not responsible or liable in any manner for any content or materials posted in relation to this Competition.

d. By accepting the Prize, the Prize Winner(s) consents to the Promoter using their details for promotional purposes.

e. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate information or for any loss, damage or injury as a result of technical or telecommunications problems, including security breaches. If such problems arise, then the Promoter may modify the Competition upon notification.

f. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/suitability of any of the goods or services offered as Prizes. The Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained, to person or property and including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by it, or its agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services connected with this Competition.

g. If this Competition is not capable of running as planned due to any reason, including unauthorised intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) in its sole discretion to cancel the Competition or to disqualify any individual who has tampered with the entry process.

h. Under Privacy law, Entrants may access personal information that the Promoter holds about them and seek correction of that information at any time. If Entrants no longer wish the Promoter to notify them of initiatives that the Promoter considers may be of interest to them, they may notify the Promoter by email: (event.research@dnsw.com.au). If Entrants choose this option, the Promoter

12. Exclusion of Liability

a. By registering for this Competition, each Entrant assumes sole liability for any personal injury and/or damage to property caused or claimed to have been caused to him or her (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) as a result of or in connection with participating in this Competition and/or any Qualifier or Prize Winner(s), as well as any personal injury suffered or sustained as a result of taking any Prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

b. These Terms and Conditions do not affect, and are not intended to affect, any rights or remedies a consumer might have, which cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

a. These Conditions of Entry are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts for the resolution of any dispute, difference, controversy or claim arising in connection with these Terms and Conditions and/or this Competition.

 

WIN AN UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND WITH FRIENDS COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

7. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in selection of the winner. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges on Wednesday 31 March 2021 at Sydney Opera House based on the most original responses received as chosen by the judges. If, for any reason, a winner does not claim the prize or the contact details supplied by them were incorrect, the Promoter reserves the right to draw a second chance prize winner on Friday 2 April 2021, and that person will be the winner of that prize.

11. All components of the major prize must be used/redeemed on 10 – 11 April 2021 as scheduled by the Promoter (which schedule is subject to change at the Promoter’s discretion). The components of the major prize are not redeemable for cash or transferable between dates or times unless changed or rescheduled by the Promoter. Participants of the major prize must be over 18. The winner will be the hirer of the yacht, will be subject to and must comply with the terms and conditions of hire, and eligibility to participate in that experience is conditional on the winner entering into those terms and conditions.
