The only authorised ticket agency for this event is Sydney Opera House.
Please note from July 2025 we run two classes per scheduled day, but these are a repeat workshop. Tickets may not be transferred for other sessions in the day. For example, if you purchase a ticket for the morning session, you must attend that session, and not the afternoon session. This is due to strict capacities in each workshop, and to ensure we can grow our ensemble with new participants.

Recommended for adults 55+
No previous dance or theatre experience is necessary. Facilitators will guide participants in movement exercises and activities that meet their physical movement levels.
Please wear shoes you can take off, as this workshop is best done barefoot!
About the artist
Diane Busuttil
Diane Busuttil is a leader in the field of socially engaged dance practice, specialising in movement-based engagement with older adults in aged care, community and hospital settings. With over three decades of experience in both professional performance and community-based arts practice, Diane holds formal training in contemporary dance, physical theatre, and somatic movement education. She has trained internationally with pioneers in dance theatre and has worked extensively in interdisciplinary contexts alongside artists, aged care workers, and cultural institutions. She is a qualified Dance for Parkinson’s teacher and has completed numerous courses about dementia and the arts through the University of Tasmania MOOC program.
Her facilitation style draws upon evidence-based methodologies that prioritise empathy, creativity, and inclusivity. She is the founder of Creative Caring Australia and a specialist in Creative Ageing and Engagement. Diane’s work explores the intersection of movement, memory, and meaning, and is recognised both in Australia and internationally. Diane has developed a unique model of practice that bridges the gap between artistic excellence and person-centred care. Her programs are recognised for their impact on cognitive stimulation, emotional wellbeing, and community connection, redefining what is possible in care environments through the arts. These programs are regularly delivered in aged care and hospital settings, with a strong focus on dementia support.
Since 2022, she has been working on collaborative socially engaged projects with The CAD Factory. She is currently training artists in integrating social engagement and care strategy into their practice.

Venue information
Our foyers will be open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Refreshments will be available for purchase from our theatre bars.
All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.

The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see the Wilson Parking website for details.
Please check the Transport NSW website for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a six minute walk to the Opera House.
Frequently asked questions
We advise that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the event. Ticket purchases and collection at our Box Office is discouraged and eTicket or postal delivery methods should be used, wherever possible. However, if you are collecting your tickets from the Box Office, we recommend doing this at least 60 minutes before the event starts.

Food and beverages will not be allowed unless specified in the event. Opera Bar, Opera Kitchen and Portside are also available to purchase food before your event. Please bring a credit or debit card for any on-site purchases to enable contactless payment.
