The Brag

Legends of electronic music return for three euphoric nights

In the world of electronic dance music, Underworld need no introduction. Since their earliest days on the underground pop scene of the 1980s, Welsh duo Karl Hyde and Rick Smith have gone on to be one of techno’s defining acts, moving from pioneering electro-rock albums like 1988’s Underneath the Radar to their iconic ‘90s records dubnobasswithmyheadman, Second Toughest in the Infants and Beaucoup Fish, and their unforgettable party anthem “Born Slippy (NUXX)”. After scoring the 2012 London Olympics the duo have continued to release blistering albums that push the boundaries of techno, from 2016’s acclaimed, Grammy-nominated Barbara, Barbara, We See a Shining Future to their recent multimedia series DRIFT, which was accompanied by sold-out performances around the world.

Following their Sydney Opera House debut in 2017, Underworld returned in 2019 for four exhilarating performances at Vivid LIVE that were among the most talked about shows of the Festival, leaving crowds breathless with their euphoric mix of dazzling visuals and cutting-edge beats. After more than 35 years, 10 studio albums and four EPs, Underworld remain at the forefront of techno – icons whose legend only continues to grow.
